‘Great to see’… Journalist loved what one Birmingham City player did at Hull City

Birmingham City picked up a potentially important point in their battle to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Travelling to the MKM Stadium to face play-off hopefuls Hull City, the visitors found themelves behnd inside the opening half an hour. That came when Ozan Tufan controversially turned home from a corner.

However, the Tigers were unable to find a second, so when Lukas Jutkiewicz struck with less then ten minutes remaining, it proved enough to earn a point for Blues.

That point means Birmingham City are now 19th in the Championship table, one point clear of the bottom three.

Even so, one positive for the club from that trip to the MKM Stadium, was the performance of George Hall from the bench, as he continues his recovery from injury.

Journalist impressed by George Hall

It has been a long time since Birmingham City have really been able to call upon George Hall.

The midfielder had been absent since August due to a hamstring injury before getting the final few minutes in Saturday’s defeat to Southampton.

Hall was then even more involved in that draw with Hull City on Tuesday night. With around half an hour remaining, the 19-year-old was brought on in place of Siriki Dembele.

He would then go on to bring much of the energy that has become expected of him in a Birmingham City shirt, which did not go unnoticed.

Taking to X to reflect on that game, Birmingham Mail journalist Alex Dicken wrote:

“It was great to see George Hall open up and sprint last night after four hamstring injuries in 10 months. He looked so sharp after coming on.”

Next up for Birmingham City is a trip to The Den to face Millwall on Saturday afternoon.

George Hall return a big boost for Birmingham City

It will be a huge relief for Blues that Hall is now back and playing once again.

The teenager showed last season, that he is more than capable of making a big impact at this level.

Indeed, he has certainly been a miss for John Eustace and Wayne Rooney when they were in charge at St Andrew’s this season.

Having him back now, could therefore be helpful for Birmingham City in terms of picking up the results they need to stay in the division.

Indeed, current manager Tony Mowbray has an excellent reputation for developing young players.

That does make this particularly exciting when considering the potential that the 19-year-old has shown.

With that in mind, the fact Hall is already looking like his old self again, suggesting he could soon be back up to form and fitness, will be exciting for Birmingham City.
