Birmingham City will likely have to deal with interest in a number of their players come the summer transfer window.
With the Blues currently in a battle to avoid relegation to League One, other clubs may sense an opportunity to snatch some of their top players when the market reopens.
One individual currently at St Andrew’s who will surely be on the radar of team elsewhere come the summer, is Jordan James.
The 19-year-old has impressed again for Birmingham City during the current campaign. As a result, he has already been linked with several other clubs.
However, it seems one of those interested parties, now looks unlikely to complete a deal for the midfielder.
Atalanta’s Jordan James stance
Back in January, Serie A side Atalanta were reported to have got as far as agreeing terms over a move with James himself.
Ultimately though, no deal materialised. Instead, James has remained at Birmingham City, until at least the end of the season.
Now, it seems unlikely that a deal will be revisited this summer. According to Tutto Mercato, the midfielder is not currently on the radar of Atalanta.
That is due to the fact that the Serie A side will be targeting someone with more experience, if they are to add to their options this summer.
So while the Birmingham City man is apparently liked by their scouting department, he will ‘almost certainly not’ join Atalanta in the summer.

Premier League clubs could still move for Birmingham City man
While Atalanta may not be pursuing the signing of James, that does not mean he will definitely be staying at St Andrew’s beyond this season.
There were also Premier League clubs linked with the midfielder back in January. Indeed, it has already been suggested that Crystal Palace have retained their interest in the lead-up to the summer window.
As a result, Birmingham City may well still face a battle to retain the services of the teenager, come the summer.
That will be a concern for them, given the appeal a move to the Premier League club would have for James, and the financial strength top-flight teams have for these deals.
It could therefore be difficult for the Blues to retain the services of James, even if Atalanta are no longer pursuing a deal.
However, that would at least bring some useful funs back into Birmingham City. They in turn, could potentially help to further strengthen the squad available to Tony Mowbray.
