Birmingham City have got through plenty of managers over the course of this season.
The campaign began with John Eustace in charge of the club, before he was replaced by Wayne Rooney in October.
That though, was a move that simply did not work out. As a result, the former Manchester United and England striker was replaced by Tony Mowbray in January.
However, he was then forced to temporarily step back last month for health reasons.
He has so far been replaced by his assistant Mark Venus. Now though, it seems as though a familiar face is set to return to Birmingham City, to help get things back on track for the club.
Gary Rowett set for Birmingham City return
According to The Daily Telegraph journalist John Percy, the Blues are now in talks about bringing Gary Rowett back to the club.
The now 50-year-old previously spent just over two years in charge of the club, between October 2014 and December 2016.
During that time, he guided the club to two 10th place finishes in the Championship table. They were also 7th in the second-tier standings at the time of his sacking.
Since his departure from Birmingham City, Rowett has also gone on to work Derby County, Stoke City and Millwall, leaving the latter last October.
He now looks set to return to the game with the Blues, with a short-term interim head coach/consultancy role expected to be confirmed later on Tuesday.
Rowett’s first game back with Birmingham City could come after the March international break. The Blues are set to travel to Loftus Road to face QPR on Friday 29th March.

A smart move for Blues
It does look like a very sensible move from the club to bring in someone such as Rowett.
Things have not been going well for Birmingham City since Mowbray stepped back from his role.
They have so far taken just one point from the six games that they have played under Venus.
That has now left the club perilously close to the relegation zone. As things stand, they are 21st in the Championship table, only outside the bottom three on goal difference.
With that in mind, it would seem to make sense for them to change things, before they get dragged below the dotted line.
In Rowett, they are bringing in someone who knows the club well, and has plenty of experience in stabilising teams in the Championship.
He therefore ought to be a good option to guide Birmingham City to the results they need to avoid relegation.
This therefore, looks like it could be a smart move from those in charge at St Andrew’s.
