Birmingham City face another huge game as they attempt to avoid relegation from the Championship on Tuesday night.
A 3-1 defeat at Portman Road to Ipswich Town was perhaps not the most surprising. The Tractor Boys are of course, chasing promotion to the Premier League this season.
However, results elsewhere also went against Blues last weekend. Because of that, they now sit 20th in the Championship table, only outside the relegation zone on goal difference.
A trip to the MKM Stadium to face Hull City therefore takes on huge importance for Birmingham City.
With manager Tony Mowbray still absent for medical reasons, Mark Venus will once again take charge of the team for this one.
One player he may look to for an impact in a game such as this, is Tyler Roberts.
A tough Birmingham City career so far for Tyler Roberts
Admittedly, Roberts has found things rather difficult since moving to St Andrew’s from Leeds United on a permanent deal last summer.
He made his debut for the club on the opening day of the season. However, injury then meant he did not play again under John Eustace.
Indeed, it was only in the latter days of Wayne Rooney‘s reign that he was able to return to action.
Even now, he is yet to really get going for Birmingham City. Indeed, the 25-year-old is yet to score or assist in what is now 11 Championship appearances for Blues.
However, if he can ensure history repeats itself, this clash with Hull City could be the perfect chance for Roberts to change that.

Tyler Roberts has positive memories v Hull City
Back in February 2020, while still playing for Leeds United, Roberts enjoyed an excellent afternoon in a match away at Hull City.
Introduced with his side 2-0 up and 23 minutes of the game remaining, the attacker made a major impression.
In what remained of the match, the Wales international produced two excellent finishes to net an impressive brace in an emphatic win.
It was a performance that many felt was a demonstration of exactly how good the now Birmingham City man could be at that level.
So far, he has yet to build on that. It could be argued that was not helped by the fact that Leeds United won promotion just a few months later.
Roberts then arguably found the step up to the Premier League difficult to make. Meanwhile, his subsquent stints in the Championship, on loan with QPR and now at Birmingham City, have been hindered by injury.
However, having just come through those injury troubles, this could instead be a foundation to push on from with Blues.
Indeed, given Birmingham City are not in the hunt for promotion, there would be more time for him to build on this at Championship level.
Of course, that is further enhanced by the fact that such a contribution could go some way to keeping the club in the second-tier beyond the current campaign.
As a result, Birmingham City will surely be hoping to see Roberts produce a repeat of what he has previously done against Hull City tonight, for the good of both the club, and the player himself.
