Birmingham City face a crucial few days as they attempt to steer clear of the Championship relegation zone.
As things stand, Blues are currently 19th in the Championship table, four points clear of the relegation zone.
Friday night sees Tony Mowbray take his side to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls are 23rd in the table, and winless in six in all competitions.
That game therefore, is a big opportunity to pick up three vital points, and potentially open a gap to the bottom three.
Tuesday then sees Birmingham City return to St Andrew’s, where Mowbray will face one of his former clubs in Blackburn Rovers.
Now it seems as though the visitors, could have a former Blues manager in their dugout as well for that game.
John Eustace expected to take over at Blackburn Rovers
Earlier this season, John Eustace was sacked by Birmingham City, despite the club occupying a Championship play-off place.
The 44-year-old has been out of work since his departure from St Andrew’s back in October, when he was replaced by Wayne Rooney.
However, it seems he could be about to return to work with another second-tier club.
According to reports from Daily Mirror journalist David Anderson, Eustace is now expected to be confirmed as a replacement for current Blackburn head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson ‘very soon’.
Tomasson is apparently set to resign from his role at Ewood Park. The Dane has supposedly decided he can no longer work under the financial contraints the club are under.

Eustace deserves a good reception if he returns to St Andrew’s
If Eustace is to return to St Andrew’s with Blackburn on Tuesday, he will surely have earned a positive welcome from the home crowd.
With the squad available to him and the off-field issue at the time, many expected relegation for Birmingham City last season.
However, Eustace was able to keep them comfortably clear of the drop zone. He was then building on that this season, with the club in the top six at the time of his sacking.
The fact Birmingham City have dropped from that to the position they are now are in following Wayne Rooney’s spell in charge, shows how big a mistake that change was to make.
Indeed, many Blues fans were unhappy to see him go, and this is an opportunity to show him that pre-match.
But with Blackburn currently one place and one point ahead of Birmingham City in the table, this could be a key game in the relegation fight.
As a result, that hospitality simply cannot afford to be continued when the game gets underway.
