George Hall says Blues’ fans should be ‘excited’ after unbeaten start

Birmingham City midfielder George Hall says fans should be ‘excited’ after a brilliant start to the season.

Hall assigned a new three-year-deal with the Blues’ on Thursday, ending speculation that he may make a move to the Premier League with Everton amongst those linked.

Birmingham have started the new season in brilliant form, remaining unbeaten so far in their opening five Championship games, winning three and drawing two.

“Blues fans should be excited, for the whole team, not just me – all the new players coming in, I think it’s going to be a really exciting next few years,” he told the club’s website

Hall broke through last season at St Andrew’s under the guidance of manager John Eustace. He ended the season having made 30 league appearances, starting 13 of those.

The 19-year-old is now hoping to make more of an impact on the years to come following the signing of his new contract.

“Now I’ve just got to push on, keep working and hopefully that’ll lead to winning games and helping the team. Last year I gained a lot of knowledge, even just physically having to adapt and changing for different teams you come across – it’s different from youth level.

“I’m really close to all the staff. They stayed close through the injuries, and even when we were losing games they always give you the confidence to keep going and moving forward. I’ve been working really hard through the injuries, it’s all I can do. Hopefully it’ll come good.”
