Wayne Rooney isn’t the only big name, former England star currently on the coaching team at Birmingham City.
There’s another in Ashley Cole.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea left-back has 107 England caps to his name, having won various domestic and European titles during his 20-year professional career.
He worked as a coach at Derby County when Frank Lampard was in charge and he also worked under his former Chelsea teammate at Everton, with a stint with the England U21s in between.
But he followed the likes of John O’Shea in joining Rooney at Birmingham City last month, and a recent clip of the 42-year-old has got Blues fans talking.
Cole has been filmed scoring an impressive volley in training and plenty of fans jokingly have called for him to come out of retirement, and start for Birmingham City in that left-back berth.
Here’s what some fans have had to say…
@Ozzie_bcfc: Start him then
@Adamsbcfc: Has rooney decided that longelo was that bad he’s bringing cole into the team
@Will_Lewiis: Laird learning from Ashley Cole is just unfair
@JamesCWestwood: Is he available on Saturday??
@Nath_burchy3: Give him a year contract
@b_gatfield: Start him Saturday
@randomguyonwif: Play him LB
