Birmingham City may have reached what they will hope is a turning point in their season on Tuesday night.
After three consecutive defeats in which they failed to get on the scoresheet, Blues were back to winning ways in the Championship.
Andre Dozzell‘s 77th minute strike was enough to earn a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at St Andrew’s.
That victory, combined with results elsewhere, means Birmingham City have now moved six points clear of the relegation zone in the Championship table.
Even so, it seems as though that game highlighted that one issue still remains for the club, that Tony Mowbray must try to rectify.
Goals still not flowing for Birmingham City
While they may have ended their wait for a goal in their win over Mowbray’s old side, they did not do it in the most convincing of circumstances.
Throghout the game, Birmingham City missed a number of chances to put more goals past Aynsley Pears in the Blackburn Rovers goal.
Tyler Roberts twice fired off-target when in an excellent position, with Siriki Dembele doing the same.
Marc Roberts meanwhile would head an excellent delivery from Dozzell against the foot of the visitor’s post.
In the end, Birmingham City would get just three of their 18 shots on target throughout the course of the 90 minutes, according to SofaScore.
Indeed, it was only when an attempted clearance fell to Dozzell at close range that he was able to poke home the winner for Blues.
As a result, it seems apparent that there is still plenty of work to do after that win for Mowbray and co.

Blues must become more clinical in the final third
Ultimately, with Birmingham City only taking one of the many chances they created on Tuesday night, they were perhaps let off the hook to some extent.
While Blackburn Rovers were poor throughout the game, it took a stunning last gasp save from John Ruddy to deny the visitors an equaliser through Semir Telalovic.
Against other more efficient teams however, they might not be so lucky. Future opponents may be more likely to take their chances than Blackburn Rovers were, and could also create more to finish as well.
That of course, means Birmingham City are going to have to take more of the opprtunities they create, if they are to have a chance of picking up more of those all important wins.
If they are unable to do that, then with just a six point gap to the bottom three, and 15 games of the regular season still to be played, they cannot be considered fully safe just yet.
With that in mind, you get the feeling that win on Tuesday night, ought not to have fully relieved the pressure on Birmingham City, due to the nature in which it came about.
