Birmingham City are hosted by Cardiff City in the Championship tomorrow night.
Birmingham City head to South Wales where they’re hosted by this season’s top-six dark horses Cardiff City.
The Bluebirds sit in 7th and level on points with Sunderland in 6th after what’s been an impressive season so far under Erol Bulut.
His side beat Millwall 1-0 at home last time out, whereas Wayne Rooney saw his Birmingham City side lose 2-0 at Coventry City.
Blues have won just one of their opening nine games under Rooney and now sit in 17th place of the table, and just four points above the drop zone.
David Prutton predicts another defeat for Birmingham City
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has given his verdict of the game at the Cardiff City Stadium, and he’s predicted another defat for Blues.
Prutton wrote:
“Cardiff are right in the thick of the battle for the top six at the minute. It hasn’t always been pretty, but they are getting results, as they showed against Millwall on Saturday.
“It is just the type of thing Birmingham could do with. They are tumbling down the table under Wayne Rooney, and I think this could be another tricky night for him and the Blues. Home win.”
Prutton predicts a 1-0 win for the home side; Cardiff have taken 19 points from 10 home games so far this season, scoring 16 and conceding 10.
Last season, Cardiff did the double over Blues without conceding, having last met in the EFL Cup earlier this season where Cardiff won 2-1 at St Andrew’s.

Can Wayne Rooney turn it around?
Birmingham City are in a real mess right now.
Watching them be so competitive under John Eustace and then become such a mess under Rooney has been tough for the fans to witness, but January could turn Rooney’s fortunes around.
Rooney wants changes and given how poor Blues have been in the past few weeks, it looks like Rooney may be backed to make those changes.
The board will want to see Rooney succeed in the job after making the bold decision to sack him and so expect them to back in January and then give him some time after that.
But should Blues form remain poor after January, Rooney could be in trouble.
And a trip to Cardiff City tomorrow is another very difficult game.
They’re performing well this season and will view Birmingham City as a winnable game in their play-off push, so like Prutton predicts, Blues could be in for another tough evening in the Championship.
The game kicks off at 7:45pm tomorrow night.
